3.56 Earthquake Strikes Wadi Araba Region

According to the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, an earthquake of magnitude 3.5 on the Richter scale struck the Wadi Araba region this morning.



The Head of the Jordanian Earthquake Observatory, Dr. Mahmoud al-Qariuti, said the quake struck the area about 24km west of Irbid governorate, at a depth of 9 km.


Some people living in Irbid took to social media platforms and posted that they felt the quake this morning.


The JSO also recorded another earthquake of a magnitude of 2.8 on the Richter scale in the Palestinian coasts at 6:53 am today, and struck the area about 50 km northwest of the city of Haifa, at a depth of 10 km.
