Traditional Jordanian dishes are so rich and wonderful, here are some delightful ones.
1. Mjalaleh
A famous dish from the south made of bread crumbs, jameed, and can have meat/chicken/and roasted nuts!
2. Rachidieh
Pretty similar to mjalaleh but comes with fine grain wheat, lentils, and chickpeas.
3. Almashoota
When mjalaleh and Galayet bandora meet!
4. Al Rashoof/Madgouga
Yogurt essence (jameed) added to a blend of lentils, groats, and wheat, served with sour pickles and vegetables.
5. Makmoura
Boiled chicken and onion “buried” into a pie and baked. Yum!
6. Raqaqah
Layers of thin pastry made into thin strips, baked, and covered in yoghurt and ghee.
7. Maqtouaa
Liver and kidneys fried in ghee and onion.

9. Haytaleeye
A dessert dish made of cornstarch, sugar, and sprinkled with pistachio.
10. Bakeele
Another dessert dish served during weddings and baby showers made of buckwheat boiled in sugar syrup and topped with fried raisins and coconut shavings.
11. Lazkieh
Known as the Bedouin knafeh made of unleavened bread soaked in ghee and sprinkled with sugar.
12. Khabissa
Another dessert made of sieved grape juice that is boiled and mixed in with sesame seeds and crushed almonds.
