7 Types Of Jordanians You’ll Meet At A Dinner

Eating is considered a national favorite pastime in Jordan, one that is suitable for any place and time. The only thing that can make eating better is eating with friends, here are a few types of Jordanians you’ll see during mealtimes!

1. The one who’s constantly on a diet:

A necessary member in every group, the dieter is always there. However hard you may try to persuade him or her to eat, they’ll refuse and order a salad…until they start stealing a few fries off your plate.

2. The one with a small appetite:

This person is usually the most excited for the meal and will essentially talk about it nonstop, until of course, they eat one bite and start complaining about how full they are. This is the perfect dinner companion since you get to pick up whatever they leave behind.

3. The one with a huge appetite:

This person will eat any and everything placed in front of them and will never feel full. His favorite food? All food.

4. “Abu Jaber”:

Just from the name, you can tell what type of person this character is. They’ll force (byojbor) the leftovers down everyones’ throats because “some people are starving out there!”.

5. The critic:

This person feels the need to critique and evaluate all meals. “If only there was more mustard on this, or if the chicken was prepared a la Mexican style, or if the bread was made like the Pharaohs used to make it…” This is not the New York Times and you are not a food critic.

6. The beggar:

This person normally never has their own meal, but rather follows food wherever it goes. They’ll curiously eye your plate until you offer up some of it, and before you know it they’re sampling the entire table.

7. The picky eater:

This person normally comes with a whopping 600 allergies, a case of germaphobia, and a sensitive stomach. They’ll ruin the outing before it even begins!
