This Investment Project Is Going To Change The Life Of Southern Jordanians

An investment project considered to be one of the largest in Jordan is currently in the works, set to take place in the southern city of Ma’an.

Kuwaiti investor Sheikh Mishaal Al Jarrah Al Sabah declared that this project will turn Jordan into an exporter of energy.

The project is that of a petroleum refinery, and was preliminarily approved by the Jordanian Ministry of Energy when it was first announced in 2018.

The project is to be comprised of two parts: an oil refinery and a petrochemical complex.

Investor Al Sabah announced that production will begin in the second half of 2024, and will cost around $8 billion.

In his last statement, he also predicted that once the project is complete, the Ma’an Governorate will resemble the oil town of Ahmadi, Kuwait.

This project is very exciting, especially considering that it is the first of its kind in Jordan. And having been based in the South, it is bound to open many doors for the area and attract other investments.
