Coronavirus Fears Halt Life In Jordanian Streets

The World Health Organization (WHO) has recently declared the coronavirus (COVID-19) a pandemic. This is defined as a global spread of a new disease that is able to infect people easily and spread from person to person in an efficient and sustained way in multiple regions.

Although Jordan has been spared this outbreak so far, we can’t help but fear it, which has tremendously affected life in Amman.

Empty streets, cafes, malls, and more, life in Jordan has been put on hold for safety precautions.

The government has also closed our borders and imposed travel bans to and from coronavirus-infected countries.

As for citizens, it’s important to follow basic measures, which include:

– Avoiding direct contact with anyone who has corona symptoms, which include coughing, sneezing, shortness of breath, and breathing difficulties.

– Regularly washing your hands with soap and water.

– Covering your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing, and immediately disposing used tissue papers.

You can also call the following numbers for any inquiries related to the disease: (111/ 962-778-410-186/962-6-500-4545).

Stay safe!
